The Gibraltar Taxi Authority operates the white taxis throughout Gibraltar - good for short journeys and also guided tours of the Rock. The standard tour includes visits to the Great Siege Tunnels, the Moorish Castle, St Michael's Cave, the Barbary Apes (monkeys) and Europa Point.

By Cable Car
A trip on the Cable Car will afford you fantastic views from the very top of the Rock across Spain and Africa. An 8-minute journey will take you to Top Station with a 2-minute stop at the Middle Station. At Top Station, you will find a cafe, a souvenir shop and viewing terraces and will also be able to make your way to St Michael’s Cave. Getting off at the Middle Station, you can visit the Apes’ Den. The cable car costs 9 euros round trip for adults and 5 euros round trip for children over 7. Children 6 and under travel free.

By Bus
Gibraltar has an excellent local bus service operated by the Gibraltar Bus Company. This service was introduced in 2004 and the new fleet of buses now operate a more frequent and reliable service and are also easily accessible to disabled passengers. The buses are blue and there are four main routes 2,3,4,9.

Calypso Transport operate route no 10 which goes between the Frontier and the Superstore at the Europort and uses red double-decker buses.

By Boat & Ferry
Ferries operate to various destinations in the Mediterranean including a regular service to Tangiers in Morocco. Several companies offer boat trips around the Bay of Gibraltar to see the dolphins.
ON FOOT
Gibraltar is so small (about 6 square kilometres) that getting around town and the Rock on foot is fairly easy…for those who like walking!

Walking to the lookout point where the cable car stops is a considerable hike that could take at least 2 hours or more.
